Option A: School-Scheduled Road Test

Ringer’s Auto School Will Schedule Your Road Test 

Timeframe:

Your test will likely be 3 weeks or more after you sign up (if you are eligible by age and age of permit when you sign up)

Your test will likely be on a  Saturday.

Notification:

Ringer’s will email you the test appointment date and time as soon as the RMV notifies us.

Road Test Sponsorship, pass road test, practice test included

Location:
The road test will take place in the neighborhood around Ringer's Saugus office located at 7 Eustis Street.

Included:

  • The use of Ringer’s Auto School’s vehicle
  • A certified driving instructor as the sponsor
  • A 15-minute practice test a day or two before the road test.

Not Included:

  • A ride (you need your own ride to the practice and the test.
  • RMV $85 fee

Option B: Customer-Scheduled Road Test

Customer Schedules Their Own Test Directly With the RMV

Notification:

Reach out to Ringer’s once you’ve made your appointment to check our availability to sponsor on the date/time you have booked with the RMV.

Location:
The road test will take place at Cronin Skating Rink, located at 870 Revere Beach Parkway, Revere, MA 02151

Included:

  • The use of Ringer’s Auto School’s vehicle
  • A certified driving instructor as the sponsor
  • A 15-minute practice test 30 minutes or so before the road test (at the mutually agreed-upon time).

Not Included:

  • A ride (you need your own ride to the Revere test site.
  • RMV $85 fee
 
Sponsorship to Self-Scheduled Road Test
ELIGIBILITY:
 
Eligibility – these requirements are listed in the MA Driver’s Handbook available as a .pdf on the RMV website.
AGE – Applicants must be a minimum of 16.5 years of age
PERMIT – Applicants must have held a MA learner’s permit in good standing for 6 months (180 days)
 
Junior Operators – Applicants under age 18 must have completed all requirements of a MA certified driver’s education program.
 
NO DRIVING SCHOOL CAN SCHEDULE JUNIOR OPERATOR’S ROAD TESTS BEFORE  JUNIOR OPERATOR FINISHES ALL DRIVER’S ED. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS. 

HOWEVER, YOU CAN SIGN UP IN ADVANCE AND WE WILL SCHEUDLE THE TEST AS SOON AS THE STUDENT IS ELIGIBLE.

WARNING
You May Unintentionally Cancel Your Ringer’s Test
·       If you schedule your own test on the registry’s website while your name is PENDING on Ringer’s request, the registry will automatically delete your name from Ringer’s list.
·       The registry gives preference to anything you do on your own behalf over anything Ringer’s does for you (if you book a backup, you will be stuck with it).
 
The Practice Test:
 
The practice test is a skills refresher and not intended to teach a student to drive. If you don’t know how to parallel park or perform basic skills needed to pass the test, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND you schedule a full 1-hour driving lesson before scheduling a test. The fee for a full 1-hour driving lesson is $75. If you schedule a 1-hour lesson, the fee would be separate from and in addition to the $145 sponsorship fee.
 
The practice test is not required. You may take the test if you skip the practice, but your chances of passing go up if you attend.
 
Can I CANCEL My Test?
  • If you cancel your Ringer’s road test, the registry will add a $35 cancellation fee to your balance due on your MyRMV portal.
  • If you cancel your Ringer’s road test within 24 hours after receiving the road test assignment email, the registry MAY waive their $35 cancelled test fee (not guaranteed).
  • If you miss the test, (do not show up), you must pay the registry’s $35 missed test fee on the RMV website or in person at any full-service registry before you or a driving school can schedule a new test.
  • How to reschedule:
  • After cancelling, if you want to reschedule to a different date, go on the registry’s website and schedule your own road test appointment, or
  • Go to Ringer’s road test page, pay another $25 sign up fee to hire Ringer’s to reschedule your test. The $25 sign up fee is non-refundable and does not carry forward.
