To SECURE A SPOT in an on-line classroom session, make an affordable first payment of $95 when you register. With this $95 deposit, you will be able to attend the classroom portion of the program. A $300 payment is due 30 days later, or by the last day of the classroom (whichever comes first). So, the total classroom portion of Ringer’s driver’s education program is $395.

The classroom instruction will be delivered in person unless the public high schools go virtual or hybrid. If the public high schools go virtual or hybrid, Ringer’s will deliver the classroom portion of the program via Zoom. We will deliver the classroom on the same days at the same times either way.

All credit card payments are subject to a 5% convenience fee. To save the 5% convenience fee, mail a check made to Ringer’s Auto School, 7 Eustis St., Unit C, Saugus, MA 01906. Or, stop by the office between 11am – 4pm weekdays with cash or check.

Obtain MA Learner’s Permit from the RMV – must be 16 years of age/minimum.

Proof of Parent Class Attendance. At Ringer’s or provide certificate < 5 yrs old from other school.

The classroom portion of the driver’s education program must be completed before scheduling.

Ringer’s Driver’s Education program balance must be paid in full before scheduling first lesson.

Ringer’s will deliver the driver’s education course outside of high school hours also being mindful of sports and other after-school activities. 

If you have registered for a driver’s education course and are no longer able to attend those dates, you may cancel and transfer to a later session, a $100 transfer fee applies. We have structured the payment plan to allow a $95 deposit, because we do not offer refunds.

All unused payments will be credited to your account.

Absences – Classroom Session

The attendance policy for the classroom portion of the driver’s education program is set by the registry. The coursework is delivered over 30 hours and all 30 hours must be attended in order to earn credit for the program.
If you miss a day or part of a day, you must make up the time in the next session. For example, miss day 2 of June’s session – make up day 2 in July’s session.
If you miss a day, you will still be able to start your behind-the-wheel driving lessons (if the other scheduling requirements have been met). However, you will not earn a certificate of driver’s education completion until the classroom absence has been made up.

Cancel Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lesson

Ringer’s Auto School offers behind-the-wheel driving lessons 7 days/week, 9am-5pm with some extended hours beginning at 8am and ending at 9pm. Extended hours vary. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required when cancelling a behind-the-wheel driving lesson.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice (not including weekends and holidays), a $20 fee applies. If you cancel with less than one hour notice (not including weekends and holidays), a $50 fee applies.

Cancel Road Test

The sign up fee for a Ringer’s road test sponsorship is $20. If you cancel a road test after signing up, the fee is $20. Therefore, if you wish to sign up for another road test, you must prepay the $20 sign up fee again.
*NOTE: The registry website says as long as you cancel a test within 72 business hours, there will be no fee. This is true, if you scheduled your own test directly on the registry website. If you hired Ringer’s to sponsor, the $20 fee applies, because the registry charges the driving school $20 for each name on their list.

Cancel Driving Lesson Due to Illness/Sick

If you have symptoms, you must cancel your lesson. There is no fee for cancelling due to illness. There is a 14-day rescheduling ban to wait out the incubation period.

If you do not have symptoms, but have tested positive for COVID or have been contact traced and told you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, you must cancel your lesson. There is no fee for COVID-related cancellations. There is a 14-day rescheduling ban to wait out the incubation period.

Cancel Driving Lesson Due to Inclement Weather

Ringer’s will cancel all driving lessons when the governor announces a weather-related state of emergency. Otherwise, it’s at the instructor’s discretion as to cancel if they determine the road conditions have become too hazardous. Ringer’s will give as much notice to students when cancelling lessons. If Ringer’s confirms that the lesson will proceed as scheduled, and the student feels uncomfortable driving in the weather, the student may cancel with no fee. Please give as much notice as possible when cancelling due to weather.

  There is no fee for cancelling due to rain/snow/road conditions. It is highly likely that you will anticipate cancelling close to 24 hours ahead of forecasted bad weather. Therefore, please give 24 hours notice if you are cancelling due to weather. We do understand this is New England and sometimes the weather is unpredictable, so even if it is less than 24 hours notice, there is no fee for cancelling.
  A 14-day incubation period ban on rescheduling. After 14 days, if you do not have COVID symptoms, you may text the scheduling line to reschedule.

COVID Precautions

RINGER’S COVID-19 POLICIES ARE FLUID AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS SCIENTIST, HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, THE MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNMENT UPDATE COVID-19 BEST PRACTICES.

In addition to Governor Baker’s guidelines, Ringer’s will implement the following:

• The driving school car will be sanitized between lessons.
• Ringer’s instructors will hand the student a sanitizing wipe before the student enters the driving school car. The student will wipe the steering wheel and high touch surfaces before beginning the driving lesson.
• Windows will remain partially open during driving lessons to promote circulation, weather permitting.

Ringer’s employees and students will wear masks.

1. In car, during driving lessons, Ringer’s instructors will wear face masks at all times.
2. In car, during driving lessons, Ringer’s students will wear face masks at all times.
3. All persons entering Ringer’s office will wear face masks.
4. In the office, Ringer’s employees will wear face masks when a minimum distance of 6 feet cannot be maintained.

No one may enter the car if they have COVID symptoms, have tested positive for COVID, or have been in close contact with someone who is symptomatic or has tested positive for COVID.

1. Instructors will not be permitted to report to work if they are symptomatic or have been in close contact with someone symptomatic.
   1. If an instructor tests positive for COVID-19 , they may not report to work for a minimum of 14 days after the last day they were symptomatic.
   2. If a non-symptomatic instructor has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, they may not report to work for a minimum of 14 days.
2. Students may not attend driving lessons if they are symptomatic or have been in close contact to someone symptomatic.
   1. If an student tests positive for COVID-19 , they may not schedule a driving lesson for a minimum of 14 days after the last day they were symptomatic.
   2. If a non-symptomatic student has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, they may schedule a driving lesson for a minimum of 14 days.

The 6-hour observation requirement has temporarily been suspended by the registry to minimize the number of persons in the driving school car.
